BLACKHAWK! S.O.L.A.G. Gloves

If you have ever taken a training class, competed in a practical shooting competition, or just like to shoot a lot, then you know that your hands can take some serious abuse. Your hands are you main contact point to your weapon, your means of reloading and manipulating your weapon as well. If they are burned from a hot barrel, numb from the cold, or injured from your environment, you will not be able to perform at 100%.
The SOLAG ( Special Operations Light Assault Glove ) from Blackhawk is a Nomex lined all purpose lightweight glove. It has Dual-layer palm with Pittards WR100X and Armortan treated premium goatskin leather for water repellency and 25% more abrasion resistance. There are padded areas on the back of the hand and on the fingers, which I found to be a welcomed feature as I slammed my hands in to door jams or tire walls (with steel belts sticking out) at the Active Shooter class.
One of the other features I liked the best was the dual adjustment points on the gloves. One is on the back of the hand, and the other on the wrist. This let me not only have the gloves fit properly my hand, but also allowed me to fit gloves over the cuffs of long sleeve shirts or a jacket.
I was able to use these gloves in warm, and cold (well cold for a NC boy) environments, and they never let me down. Normally in warm weather, a glove will leave my hands sweaty, but that was not the case with these. They kept my hands dry and cool. That’s what surprised me so much about the cold weather characteristics of the SOLAG gloves. They still kept my hands warm in cold weather, and let me shoot more.
I think the SOLAG gloves are a viable option for anyone wanting an all purpose lightweight glove to shoot with. I’ll be shooting with mine for years to come.
