Cavalry Arms Polymer AR Lower Reciever
Why would I want a plastic rifle? That's the first thing I thought when I heard about Cavalry Arms lowers. With all the other forged metal lowers, why would I trade that away for a plastic AR-15 lower? Those are just some of the questions that went through my mind. Right up until I put my hands on one. The first thing I noticed was that this was a solid build. The cav arms lower uses the same lower parts kit as the other metal lowers, but its a good pound lighter that a standard lower, but just as tough. Its actually made in 2 pieces and then vibrated together. The length of pull is also slightly shorter than a standard A2 stock, and fits me well. I also like the fact that the lower is less exspensive than other lowers. Plus, it has a LIFETIME warranty. Yes, you read that correctly, a Lifetime warranty. If it breaks for any reason, they fix it (minor handling fee of 30.00 may apply as of press time). But this rifle is tough, I dont think you can break it. Even if you tried to.
Since I got my CavArms lower I have used it in 5 3-gun matches, and won 4 of them. This lower does not give up anything to its metal counterparts. Plus the colors you can get it in look cool! I mated my lower to a MSTN built 6.8spc for hunting as well. This is a great combo. I've taken 3 deer so far this yr with it. Its a great gun, from a great company.
The other thing I really respect abotu CavArms if that they are very Pro 2A, and they support the shooting sports. If there is a 3 gun match going on, you can bet that Cav arms will be sponsoring that match, and you will see cav arms rifles in the hands of the shooters.
Cav Arms is a great company, and I hope they stay around a long time.
The polymer that Cav Arms uses offers superior resistance to corosion, and exceptional finish durability. The lowers are offered in 3 main colors. OD Green, Black, and Coyote brown. Custom colors are availible on request. MSRP is $250 for a complete lower, including buttplate, trap door, and take down pins. MSRP for a stripped lower is $175.
